Pedestrian Accident on Brook Street - February 3, 2021

On Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at approximately 11:17am, officers of the Easthampton Police Department, along with Easthampton Fire & EMS personnel, were dispatched to Brook Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, EPD officers and Easthampton Fire Department medics rendered aid to the injured pedestrian, who was subsequently transported by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation by EPD’s Accident Reconstruction Team revealed that the operator of a Nissan SUV, traveling on Brook Street, lost control of the vehicle and struck the pedestrian, who was operating a snowblower at the edge of the roadway.

The Nissan SUV was operated by a 45-year-old Easthampton man, who was transported by ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital for evaluation.

The pedestrian, a 37-year-old Northampton woman, remains in critical condition at Baystate Medical Center.

The Nissan SUV driver is cooperating with police, and this accident remains under investigation by the Easthampton Police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

There is no additional information for release at this time.
